The Rothenberg Group was recently recognized as a donor to the Montreal General Hospital’s (MGH) new, state-of-the-art Clinical Innovation Platform (CLIP) during a room-naming ceremony held on October 19, 2022.

The official unveiling ceremony of the Rothenberg Meeting Room plaque took place at the CLIP of the MGH in the presence of Mr. Jean-Guy Gourdeau, President & CEO of the MGH Foundation, Dr. Jake Barralet, Scientific Director of the CLIP, and Mr. Robert Rothenberg, CEO of Rothenberg Capital Management, in addition to other representatives from MGH and RCM. The Rothenberg Meeting Room is located near the entrance of the CLIP’s co-working space, which members can use to meet with their teams and hospital mentors.

The Clinical Innovation Platform is a hospital-based sustainable innovation ecosystem that validates and refines health technologies.

The ceremony included a special demonstration by Dr. Amir Hooshiar, Director of Surgical Robotics Centre, and Co-founder of Holoray. Holoray is one of the startups incubated by the CLIP. Using a headset with a see-through display that projects images of the patient’s inside anatomy, their innovative augmented reality technology enables surgeons to plan and perform operations on patients from a distance with astonishing precision. A tour of the Surgical Robotics Centre located in the CLIP was also included in the occasion.

The CLIP is a new and unique area located in the center of Montreal General Hospital, a tertiary and quaternary teaching hospital. The CLIP aspires to support the best and brightest whose medical innovations will have a direct influence on patient care not only in Montreal, but worldwide. The CLIP, which is based at MGH, facilitates access between early-stage healthcare innovations and clinical experts, hospital stakeholders, and research laboratories, allowing members to refine and test their inventions, meet regulatory milestones, and build their business within the healthcare setting.

“As the Montreal community has supported the success of our firm for over four decades, it’s important to recognize this and give back to organizations in our community that make this city the world class center that it is today,” says Robert Rothenberg, CEO of Rothenberg Capital Management.
